The idea for this stylized house came from those cottages that we see alongside the roads of Britain that are full of mystery and have their charm.
I used Maya for modeling, and I divided the mesh into 3 materials to gain more resolutions in the textures. The textures were painted in Substance Painter, and some details were hand-painted as can be seen in the stepping stones in the garden and the wood veins.
In Unreal Engine, I created a stylized particle system for the chimney smoke, using vector images of smoke. I used Lumen to light the scene and created a level sequence to create an animation for the camera that can be seen in the video below.
